Australian Respiratory Council Grant

Congratulations to Dr Emily Lai Ho MacLean for receiving an ARC Research Support Grant to undertake research on "Finding tuberculosis among adolescents: new diagnostic tools and strategies".

WHO Guidelines

In the latest World Health Organisation (WHO) consolidated guidelines on tuberculosis, new recommendations have been established for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) preventive treatment among household contacts. These guidelines are grounded in evidence from the VQUIN MDR trial—a pivotal study that evaluated the efficacy of levofloxacin in preventing the development of active TB in latently infected contacts of MDR-TB index patients, doi:10.1136/bmjopen-2019-033945.
